Adelaide is the coastal capital and largest Australian city of the state of South Australia. It is thus the South Australia capital. The city is close to the Torrens river. The city was named to honor Queen Adelaide, King William IV's consort and was founded in 1836 - capital to the only freely settled British state in Australia. The electronic segment with an annual growth rate of 15 per cent is big and happening. Every second car produced in Australia is an Adelaide product. Seventy per cent of Australian defence companies are located in Adelaide.
Adelaide is known for its churches, music, cultural and sporting events. Adelaide has a strategic hub for north-south and east-west routes. The city has a public transport system, the Adelaide Metro which comprises of a contracted bus system that oncludes the O Bahn Busway, Adelaide-Glenelg Tram and metropolitan railways.
